CALL TO ORDER:

President Debbie Herbert called the meeting to order at 3:30 P.M. In attendance were     President Debbie Herbert, Vice-President Anna Jesse, Treasurer Susan Strahle, Secretary Tami Long; Trustee Donna Hayes; Librarians Vicki Carr, Lori Nixon.  Trustees Linda Wiles and Salli Pritts absent.

MINUTES AND FINANCIAL REPORT:

October minutes and financial report were read and approved as written

Discussed internet bill. Currently we have Sparklight. Debbie Herbert checked into Conxxus which would cost less per month than Sparklight. Lori will check further into Conxxus but will table for now.

TRUSTEE/COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Complete Annual Review of Policies. Scheduled for the months of January and February 2024

UNFINISHED/ONGOING:

ALA Grant-Libraries Transforming Communities update: Tentatively the diabetic class with the Senior group is scheduled starting in February. 

 

NEW:

Approved the 2024 Library Holiday Schedule. Susan motioned; Donna seconded; All in favor.

Approved paying of December Bills. Tami motioned; Anna seconded; all in favor.

We set the 3rd Decennial Committee Meeting for April 9, 2024 after the Library Board Meeting. The meeting will include the Committee Members, Ruth Hilvety and Sue Cole.

Reviewed and replaced the updated Meeting Room Policy and Non-Resident Cards for Kids Policy in our Committee Book. Susan motioned to accept; Anna seconded; all in favor.

Janice Lancaster Memorial Donations: Janice’s daughters would like the library donations to go toward the Children’s Programming (Summer Reading).

Auditor met with Susan.  The Auditor’s Report was circulated for the Board Members to review.  Motion was made to accept the report by Anna, Donna seconded.  Debbie Herbert accepted, Anna Jesse accepted, Susan Strahle accepted, Tami Long accepted, Donna Hayes accepted.  Motion granted.  Vicky notarized the document. Susan will mail and return all necessary paperwork.

LIBRARY STAFF ACTIVITIES/PROGRAMS UPDATE

Kids Night November 8th at 6 P.M. – Christmas Ornaments

Book Club November 15th at 4 P.M.

Ladies Night November 15th at 6 P.M. - Next of Kiln, Christmas Ornaments

Ladies Night November 29th at 6 P.M. – Air Fryer Class with the U of I Extension

City of Macon Christmas Tree Lighting November 25th from 4-6 P.M. Starts at the Fire   Department. Grinch will be present, ornament craft, treats, games, storybook time, etc.

Second Air Fryer Class December 6th from 6-8 P.M.

There will be NO December Library meeting. The next meeting will be January 9th at 3:30 P.M.

A motion to adjourn was made by Susan, seconded by Donna. All in favor. Meeting was adjourned at 4:26 P.M.
