The meeting was called to order at 3:35 p.m. by Debbie Herbert. Trustees in attendance were Debbie Herbert, Tami Long, Cathy Murray, Salli Pritts, and Mindy Younker. Vicki Carr and Lori Nixon were also in attendance.

New and ongoing:
Dena Wurster resigned. Her last day of service will be May 30, 2026.
Final report for the ALA Grant - Libraries Transforming Communities Round 3 - is completed.
Road Scholar speakers Dr. Norm Moline - The National Park Service in Illinois: Places to Experience Our Cultural History held on April 29, 2026 was a success with 25 people in attendance. Future Road Scholar presentations will take place at the library.
Daniel Overturf - Illinois Trails and Traces: Portraits and Stories Along the State’s Historic Routes. September 2, 2026.
Julia Rendleman - Illinois’ Growing News Deserts and Why We Should Care. October 6th, 2026
Staff worked with Jason from Prairie Computer Network Solutions to complete ADA Website and Social Media and Documents Compliance.
The library will participate in the Library Crawl in October.
The library signed up for Explore More Illinois 2026 - This is linked on the library website. “Explore More Illinois is a free cultural and recreational pass program that allows public library cardholders to reserve free or discounted admission, parking, and gift store purchases at hundreds of attractions across the state.” Patrons will use their library card number and pin.
The Board approved A Non-Resident Card at the per household fee of $75 per year.

Strategic Plan Presentation by Vicki. Documentation provided to the board for discussion in the future.
There are many ongoing and upcoming programs including a Dragon Egg Hunt, BBQ & hot dogs at the library during the town rummage sales on May 14 & 15, Plant Bingo on May 27th, and Macon Summer Fun Day. Summer Reading program is booked.
