CALL TO ORDER:
Meeting was called to order at 3:40 P.M. In attendance were President Debbie Herbert, Vice-President Anna Jesse, Secretary Tami Long; Trustees Donna Hayes, Linda Wiles, Salli Pritts; Librarians Vicki Carr, Lori Nixon. Treasurer Susan Strahle absent.

November & December minutes and financial report were read and approved as written

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:
November 2023 Circulation Figures: CKO 362; Computer 71; Patrons Assisted 254

December 2023 Circulation Figures:  CKO 263; Computer 51; Patrons Assisted 220

TRUSTEE/COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Complete Annual Review of Standards for Illinois Public Libraries.  Per Capita Grant 2024

UNFINISHED/ONGOING:
ALA Grant-Libraries Transforming Communities update:  Diabetes Self-Management Program begins February 8 and will be held on 6 consecutive weeks at the library 1-3:30 pm.  This program is sponsored by the ALA Grant in partnership with the Macon County Health Dept, Starting Point.

-Illinois Humanities Grant awarded to SMPL on November 20 with $10,000 deposited into our account on December 15. This grant is for a Community Engagement Coordinator and we hired Dena Wurster.

-Dena Wurster met the Board and discussed plans for IL Humanities Grant

-Reviewed updated Timeline & Presentation Schedule Policy

-We participated in the Scholastic Library Program and were able to give away 57 free books

-The Library, City of Macon and Macon Fire Dept hosted Grinchmas where we had our Christmas tree lighting, crafts, story time with 150+ community members attending

-The Library and Macon Fire Dept held our annual toy drive with a large amount of toys donated

- IL Humanities Grant Meeting – Vicki January 10 at 9:30 am
- Canva & Design for Libraries Class – Brittany & Dena January 10 at 1 pm
- Project Next Generation Grant Meeting – Vicki January 11 at 10 am
- Book Club January 17 at 4 pm
- IL Humanities Grant interview – Vicki January 17 at 1 pm
- Adult Services Forum – Vicki & Dena January 26 at 10 am
- Aspen Training – Vicki January 30 at 8 am
- Medium Pubs Meeting – Vicki & Dena January 30 at 1 pm
- Puzzlepalooza January 31 at 6 pm
- Diabetes Self-Management Program starts February 8 at 1 pm x 6 weeks
- Virtual Members Day February 8 – Virtual training all staff, all day
- Small Pubs Meeting February 13 at 10 am - Vicki & Dena
- Mental Health First Aid Training – February 15 all day – Lori

The next meeting will be held February 13 at 3:30 P.M.

A motion to adjourn was made by Tami Long, seconded by Donna Hayes. All in favor.  Meeting was adjourned at 4:58pm
